Tired of Windows Vista: Going to Windows 7 RC

Until Windows 7 officially is released on October 22nd 2009 I am going to upgrade Windows Vista 64Bit on my Laptop to Windows 7 RC 64Bit. I thought why not? Its an upgrade, I wont loose my files, I have used Windows 7 Beta on my Desktop and its fantastic, its only 2 months until Windows 7 comes out. Why not?

I am about to upgrade right now! After I post this and uninstall a couple things that arent Windows 7 compatible I will upgrade!
I am excited because I have only used the Windows 7 Beta and I havent even used my Desktop in quite some time. I hope RC is better (I have heard it definitely is of course).

VoiceCentral - Still usable after Apple removed it from AppStore

I was thinking that I wanted to try another app other then GV Mobile (in Cydia now after Apple removed it from the AppStore) so I went looking for VoiceCentral's IPA file which I was surprised to find on Appulo.us.
I have logged in and it works just fine!

So VoiceCentral is still a working alternative to GV Mobile if you are inclined to use it.

Here is the Appulo.us download page for anyone who would like to still use VoiceCentral - You will have to have AppSync 3.0 (For 3.0+) or MobileInstallation Patch (For 2.0+) for it to install - Most of you know that but I thought I would remind you.

GPush Hits AppStore!

A few days ago I made a post about GPush which is meant to be Gmail Push for the iPhone.
You can find that post here.

GPush has now hit the AppStore! This is not quite true Push from Gmail itself but rather you download this App (GPush) and you input your Gmail account information and then it will use the Gmail IMAP Idle function and when the server finds new emails on your Gmail account it will send you a Push notification on your iPhone. So you will get the same effect that you would with true Push for Gmail except through a different App.
The developer said it could take up to 30 seconds for the Notification to get Pushed. Thats good enough for me!

As I said in my previous post I already get my Gmail Pushed to my iPhone with the normal Mail.app. I have absolutely no clue how but it Pushes all the same!

Google Voice notifications on your Computer - and iPhone

Computer

You can get notifications for Voicemail and Text (SMS) Messages on your computer when they are received on your Google Voice account!
To achieve this we will use Growl for Windows, FireFox, FireFox Growl/GNTP Add-On, and FireFox Greasemonkey Add-On.

Downloads:
Growl for Windows

Once Growl is installed I recommend running it at login (Option in Growl)

You will need to install FireFox (if you dont have it already) before install the Add-Ons.

Once you have those installed you will need to go here and install the Google Voice Greasemonkey Script by clicking Install near the upper right corner.

Now that you have done that go to the Google Voice webpage - here

It should say Google Voice is registered to receive Growl Notifications.

You will now receive notifications of new Google Voice alerts! The only problem being here is that I believe you need to keep FireFox OPEN with your Google Voice account open in a Window or Tab. But either way this is very useful! I use it myself.

iPhone

You will need to get an App from the AppStore called Prowl: Growl for iPhone. It does cost but only $2.99. If you want to get it by other methods thats fine but I will not give any links to other methods

Open Prowl and register a new account. Once registered visit this address on your computer https://prowl.weks.net/ and log in with the account you created. Press the button to create an API key. Now copy that key. Or save it somehow

You will need to open Growl on your computer and go to the Network tab and click "Forward notifications to other computers"
Now click the Plus button (green) and choose iPhone and choose a name for your device.
Now paste in the API key you got from Prowl.

Now thats it! You get Google Voice notifications on your Computer and your iPhone! - Only thing I dislike is the need to keep Google Voice and FireFox open.. But for most of the day that isnt a problem for me and probably for more people it wont be a problem for some of the day.

GPush - Gmail Push For iPhone!

Finally! Gmail Push for the iPhone!.. Well.. Kind of.. This is about as good as you will get as of right now for simplicity, there are other ways of achieving the same goal (Getting Gmail to push on the iPhone) but this looks to be the easiest for most users, since it is an AppStore app then it will be easily accessible to ALL iPhone users. There are other ways such as using services and setting up exchange accounts. Personally for ME if I turn Fetch on set for 1 hour (or whenever.. Supreme Preferences allows more options so I use 6 hours) it will Push new emails to my iPhone anyway! I have absolutely NO idea why or how but it works! I have tested it by sending myself emails and having others send them but it works. Anyways back to GPush

This app will give you Push notifications for your Gmail account!

Android Perfection

I don't know if I would call this theme Android "Perfection" but it is very nice!
I have set it up on my iPhone and I am enjoying it. I have found things that need improvement. Here is my homescreen
